Here at Active Kids Nursery Hove we aim to provide a relaxed and stimulating environment where children are eventually prepared for school.

Please feel assured at Active Kids Nursery Hove we work along the same curriculum as a school setting…

…but aim to offer lots of fun, creativity, and skills to the children who stay with us till they move to reception. Funding remains in place for children who attend our Active Kids Nursery preschool alongside multisport lessons, Spanish, Ballet and Yoga.

Our staff’s priority is to provide a friendly atmosphere for both children and parents.

Play Areas

We ensure that play areas are setup each day to reinforce different areas of the EYFS and promote your child’s development.

All our staff are fully qualified and trained in every aspect of the EYFS.

We draw from a variety of educational teaching styles including The Montessori Approach, The Waldorf Approach and The Reggio Emilia Approach.

When planning our ratios we always ensure that experienced staff members accompany junior ones.

If Children under the age of 6 years are gently encouraged to learn through interesting games, they pick up skills that will help them maintain an edge through their lives.

Classroom Facilities

Preschool here at Active Kids Nursery Hangleton provides a warm and fun environment for the children to learn whilst providing them with access to all of the areas of the EYFS curriculum. Children are given the opportunity to learn through child initiated play as well as through educational games and adult-led activities..

Helping them grow…

Children are provided with a range of different and exciting activities designed to develop their social interaction, communication and language, concentration, mark making and general educational needs. Activities are planned on the information that the children given us via conversations, parents comments, things they are doing at home and not least our own observations on what they are enjoying.

The Term Before School…

The term before children go to school we have many exciting activities including; graduation, ready for school week, looking at letters and numbers and meeting with the local reception teachers to fully prepare the children and teachers for the new transition. Meaning your ‘Young learner’ will leave us, excited and ready for the next stage of their lives!

Building Confidence…

If a child has a particular interest we use it to further their knowledge and expand their learning. Our aim is for all the children to be confident and posses a high level of self-esteem. We like them to participate in all activities and encourage them in independence meaning we will not force any child to take part but find a way to encourage and interest them into the activity. We aim to equip your children with all the necessary social and educational skills ready for when they attend reception class at school, and our activity planning reflects this.
